There is no way to talk about Chinese martial arts without saying a word about traditional Chinese medicine. The masters used to say to people who wanted to know how to fight: “If you would like to learn how to heart people, first learn how to heal them”. Traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese martial arts are connected with each other just like Yang and Ying. Talking about it separately isn’t right, because the same points which can be use to cure, improving Chi flow, in martial arts can be use as attack points. FIRSTLY IT IS NEEDED TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS CHI (QI)?According to the old Chinese natural philosophy, Chi is the base of the universe, the essence of everything, force and vital energy of everything, of what are and what surrounds us, Chi states the ground for creation of a matter. ACCORDING TO Neo-Confucian CHANG-TSAI…When chi condensates, its becomes visible and then shapes of various things start to appear. When it disperses, it starts to invisible and its shape disappears. Are we allowed to say the condensed chi is nothing but passing? And when it is disperse, can we hastily state that it is not existing?.... In relation to human being in G. Wogralik (1961r.) opinion: “Chi in our notion is a basic function of any organism, its energy, state of interior tension, viability. Each and every organ, each organ system has its own Chi what is a result of matter changes and functional state in every moment. All Chi forms result in the Chi of the whole organism.” |
